GenderBoth
Job Description
- Edinburgh / Hybrid
- Full Time
- £25,000 to £27,000
The Regional Development Officer for the East will help RYA Scotland continue to grow our reach and support for clubs, centres and communities from the Scottish Borders, all the way up the East coast to Aberdeenshire and back down to Perthshire, Stirlingshire and the Lothians, to enable them to thrive and become as sustainable as they can be.
This is a great time to join our forward-thinking organisation as our strategic plan moves into its second year. We are continuing to develop the more regional approach to our delivery and build on the conversations of how boating can develop life-skills and grow the opportunities for anyone to access boating, a sport and pastime that is available for life.
As a member of the Participation and Development Team, the RDO will be responsible for leading the delivery of a strong and vibrant East regional work plan reflecting both the RYA Scotland Strategic Plan and the needs of the local and East communities.
Therefore, we are looking for an exceptional individual to add to our team, who is:
- Enthusiastic, has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and has a track record of working collaboratively within a team.
- Has experience of working with a variety of partners using sport & physical activity to create impact and bring about positive changes for clubs, communities, and people.
- Creative and curious to explore new ideas to be more effective and have a bigger impact on individuals, clubs, centres, and communities.
- Passionate about developing partnerships, people, and places.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks.
The RDO role will work directly with clubs, centres, organisations, and other local partners, taking the time to understand their challenges and work with them to build creative solutions that address their needs. The role will continue to connect both the boating and the local community, share information and support affiliated organisations in their plans. There are exciting opportunities to support local organisations to develop vibrant, engaging activity that makes a positive impact across the East of Scotland and beyond.
For this role there is considerable travel across the region as well as travel throughout Scotland and occasional travel to wider UK locations. Consequently, a full clean UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as is the availability to work flexibly including regular evenings and weekends throughout the year. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake a PVG check upon offer of the role, as this position involves regular contact with children and/or adults at risk.
Hybrid working, with access to RYA Scotland Offices (Edinburgh)
Salary of £25,000 to £27,000 (qualification dependant), 35 hours per week
Benefits package includes pension and life insurance, free RYA Membership and associated preferential staff discounts, 26 days holiday plus public holidays.
Closing date 12 noon on Monday 27th March 2023
Interviews will be held, in person, on Tuesday 18th or Wednesday 19th April 2023 at the RYA Scotland Office.
