Role Specification

Title of Role – ESOL Tutor

Location –Town Head Village Hall

Reporting to – Director

Salary – £30 per hour

Hours – 2 per week

Role Purpose

To teach the English language to asylum seekers and refugees for 2 hours every Wednesday.

Responsibilities and Key Duties

– The ability to be flexible, dynamic and innovative in the delivery of an ESOL programme.

– The ability to deliver ESOL learning opportunities in a range of environments e.g 1:1 tuition and group work within practical activities.

– Being willing and able to take responsibility for the development of existing and new curriculum centred around delivering ESOL.

– A willingness and ability to move from one programme to another at short notice to meet the needs of a dynamic workload.

– To effectively promote the ethos and values of Cross Ethnic in your day to day duties

Person Specification

All of the following requirements will be assessed from a combination of information provided from an application form, the interview process and references (if applicable) Essential Desirable

1 Experience of delivering ESOL in the community X

2 Experience of working in a range of environments X

3 Knowledge of ESOL curriculum development X

4 Ability to be adaptable and flexible X

In addition to the above, the following areas have been identified as desirable areas of expertise we are particularly interested in recruiting to our Trust Board

5 Ability to speak any other language then English X

6 Experience work with ethnic minorities X

7 Former asylum seeker or refugee X
